Next Anticipated Litter Go Home April ish 2024
Hi there! I’m Ellie.
My family and I have set out to bring other families the Ultimate family dog. We live in Lampasas, Tx. A smallish town in central Texas. We live on land and have cattle and horses, so even though puppies are raised in home, they’re very well exposed to ranch life. My husband is a dog person by marriage. He was always supportive of my obsession, but he can no longer deny that he, too, loves doods. We have three small babies. So these puppies are raised amidst all of the chaos, noise and love.. to curate the tolerable, easy going, kid loving, friendly and confident dog!! I am able to do this by way of very intentional pairing, whelping and training, from literally the day the puppies are born. Also, all dogs in my program are bred because their temperaments are extraordinary. Yes, I breed for specific coat traits and aesthetics, with health in mind (more on that on other tabs), but temperament will always be my #1 goal!
Trudy is my world. She is Human focused to the max. She understands me completely. She smiles on command, showing all of her teeth. She is very maternal. She is so sweet, but incredibly confident. She loves to go on walks and runs, but is a low energy dog in general. Trudy is smart. She was potty trained ringing a bell by 12 weeks old and knows all sorts of commands. She loves so hard. She is the ULTIMATE FAMILY DOG.
Millie is hilarious and goofy. She very much has the typical Golden Retriever personality. She watches full episodes of TV and loves to people watch out the window. She loves to retrieve, but has a great “off switch” too. Millie is friendly and so easy going. She loves other dogs and people. She is the ULTIMATE FAMILY DOG.
Barb is one of Trudy’s babies. She has been the easiest puppy I have ever raised. I like to think that is a result of her genetics and the fact that I raised her from the moment she was born :) She is so chill and just a doll to be around. She goes everywhere with me. Loves to sit in the shopping cart at the grocery store or lay by my feet while I work. She is sweet, friendly and confident like her mama. She is the ULTIMATE FAMILY DOG.
This pre typed stuff feels really stiff to me. So I really prefer to chat over the phone too. I’d love to answer all of your questions! If the feeling is mutual, you can join the Wait List.
Approved families will be welcome to join the Wait List. A $250 Wait List fee is collected via venmo to join. This fee will be applied to your purchase price. Wait List fees are non-refundable, but there is a “skip” option.
Once a litter has been born, I will begin contacting those on the Wait List in order. At that time, you must decide if you would like to “skip” or if you would like to be placed on the current litter’s Reservation List. If you would like to proceed with the current litter, an additional $250 Reservation Fee will be collected (to be applied toward purchase price). You will also have to designate whether you want to be on the litter’s Male or Female Reserve List at that time.
The "Skip Option" -If you do not wish to move forward with the current litter, you can opt to “skip.” I will then contact you when the next litter is born and you will maintain your position. If you use the “skip” option a 2nd time, you will be bumped to the bottom of the Wait List and need to work your way back up :)
Those on the Reserve List will be invited to a private group via (free) Marco Pollo app. I will post live videos and pics daily. So you can follow along with the puppies as little or as much as you would like! I love when families are excited and love to include them as much as they would like to be apart of the whelping process! The Reservation List will also receive weekly Pupdate emails. This part is so fun!
Puppy picks are made in order of the Reservation List when puppies are between 6 & 7 weeks old. Puppy picks are made virtually. I wish I could allow in home visits but I cannot risk exposing the puppies to parvo and other illnesses.
When puppies are 8 weeks old they’ll be ready for their new homes. I’ll have 2-3 pick up times available (at least 1 will be over the weekend). Your remaining balance is due at pick up in cash.
I always prefer to breed live cover, however, some circumstances (size, stud location, mother nature) will require AI. When AI is required, the puppy price is $2650 to accommodate for just some of my extra expenses.

If you're buying a doodle for $1000 the breeder is most likely either losing A LOT of money, giving poor care to their puppies, not health testing, not doing any training or all of the above. Purchasing a "cheap" doodle often means behavioral issues or health issues later. I can't stress enough.. you get what you pay for! I consider my puppies $2000 and their training $1000 = $3000.
Let's get to know each other and see if we are a fit for eachother!
I love questions! Ask away.
It is simply science!!! Remember punnett squares!? Most breeders don't even understand how dood genetics work. There are so many myths out there like "the curlier the dood, the less it will shed" or "if you breed it to a poodle, it won't shed." Those are totally false. You can have a strait coat doodle that doesn't shed. There are a few genes that are responsible for shedding. I test for these coat traits. The main gene is furnishings. A dog can have one, two or zero. If a dood has one or two furnishings gene it will theoretically, genetically not shed and appear furnished (teddy bear). But one of the parents must carry two furnishings (and a few other traits I wont get into on here) [again punnett square] for its offspring to all be furnished. So if you're purchasing a dood from Texas O Dood Ranch your baby will be furnished. Which theoretically, genetically means it will not shed.
** poor diet and other environmental factors can cause shedding despite a dogs genetic makeup.
Ahhhh this one kills me. I have had so many people lately adement about choosing a certain gender because of certain behaviors they think a male or female will or will not posess. A dog's trainability, willing to please, ability to potty train, attitude, hyperness ect is NOT correlated to its gender. Those traits are results of genetics and environment. Texas O Dood Ranch puppies are only produced by parentage of extraordinary temperaments and brought up in a conducive environment for curating the ultimate family dog. Because all Texas O Dood Ranch babies are required to be spay/neutered by their first birthday, gender will not affect their temperaments. Within each litter, there will be personality difference, however, those do not coincide with gender. For instance, some females may be more reserved and some may be more assertive. The same will be apparent among the males.
Instead of choosing a particular generation, I encourage you to get in touch with what you're wanting. :) And just choose a dood based on that. What coat traits? What body type? What type of temperament? And then choose a breeder that is intentional about producing just that. FIbs and F1s, for instance, can have curly or wavy coats. F1bs can also even have straight coats. Either of those generations can be furnished or unfurnished and shed or not shed. So you're not "safe" getting what you want, necessarily, by basing your puppy off of generation. But if you're working with an intentional breeder, you're more likely to get what you're looking for.
